United scored 34 pts from a possible 36 pts in their recent run. They got off good and results especially away from home. Games where we didnt think we would get much, especially Norwich which seemed to just take the game away from us after that beauty by Holt just before Giggs came to the rescue in Injury time. Or the time when we got to lucky goals against a great spurs side who did nothing but attack us to our basic level and we got a header from Rooney just before half time and and Ashley young Charismatic goal to make it 2-0 just in 60 mins of the game.
We went on to win that game 3-0, a game where we wouldve possibly conceeded atleast one goal. The next good run came in when we beat Blackburn, a place where we dropped points 2 yrs ago handing Chelsea the league title, and a place where we drew again, this time winning the 19th title. So Ewood park would always be the deciding factor in our title run. winning there by brilliance from Antonio Barcelona (Yes i said Barcelona and i dont think anyone should question that) right before Ashley young scores a beauty outside the box. We were lucky to get away with 3 points that night even when we couldve easily lost or drawn at the same time.
That was the key factor in getting us the inital 5 pts ahead of City before we got QPR at home to make it 8. Dropping points at Wigan almost seemed unlikely due this exception but we have to be patient, we havent won yet. If we lose i assume another 2 games than only city cross us (assuming that they win all their remaining fixtures). City who do have to go to Norwich as well do face a tough encounter to match to that of United's. We are still in the title hunt, it was just one of those days when we didnt probably deserve even a point out of the game but still the 5 pts lead makes it less stressful.
lets hope the game against Villa returns us back to where we rightly should be because that game is on Sunday, and City play this weekend on Saturday. If City Win it could well be down to 2 points and we dont want that kind of pressure on us at all. I'm still saying its better we got a wake up call now, and im sure we can still manage to seal the deal by the end of the season. All united need to do is keep the 5pts lead before going to The Etihad Stadium. Rest win or lose, it really doesnt matter. |

Yeah i understood ur article i just would have peferred it not b the case i dunno im just a stiffler for perfection (drop points to wigan? Really? Lol) but I just hope we beat av and then city, really wanna win the title at etihad stadium spread the red must over their blue moon some more lol

what u mean it doesnt matter if we win or lose the rest after Apr 30th if we go into the derby 5 points clear and city beat us itll be cut to 2 point with 2 remaining games and at that point all the pressure would b on us I would prefer not to want that on hindsight if we had beaten wigan and astonvilla we would have been 8 points ahead of city (if they won all their games by to derby to) we could have wrapped up the league at the Etihad by wither winning or drawing cuz we have either been 11 points clear with 2 games or 9 points clear with 2 games remaining ....now every remaining games is gonna be nervy

Jack, the whole point was that i'd rather go to the derby 5 pts clear and not a point less. Obviously the situation would be entirely different if we lose and they win the remainder of their fixtures but this was basically to indicate that we still have alot to look forward to then get disappointed by yesterdays result. 5 pts clear does give us a life line even if we lose to city at the ETIHAD giving us a 2 pt gap. i hope you get my drift
